Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic Medicine is a system of medicine that focuses on promoting health and treating disease with natural, non-toxic therapies. Naturopathic Doctors are trained as primary healthcare providers who specialize in Natural Medicine. Their education consists of a four-year accredited, graduated-level medical program with admission requirements comparable to those of conventional medical schools. The Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine Degree (N.D.) is awarded after completion of course requirements, clinical rotations, and extensive postdoctoral board examinations.

Chiropractic Medicine

Maintaining proper spinal alignment is an important consideration in overall health. Chiropractors specialize in locating misplaced spinal vertebrae (subluxation) that are compromising joints, nerves, muscles, or internal organs. Using safe and effective techniques, Chiropractors reposition the misplaced vertebrae to reduce pain, tension and inflammation. A few conditions known to respond effectively include: sports injuries, motor vehicle accident injuries, postural strain, chronic musculoskelteal pain, and scoliosis.

Clinical Nutrition

The therapeutic use of diet serves as a foundation in Naturopathic Medicine. Scientific research supports that many illnesses can be effectively treated using food and nutritional supplements as healing modalities. This form of treatment results in fewer complications and side effects than many other therapies.

Botanical Medicine

Plant substances have been used medicinally for hundreds of years. Many are very effective when used properly. Research has indicated that certain herbal medicines are quite powerful in the treatment of clinical conditions. Naturopaths have extensive training in herbalism and know both the historical uses of plants and their modern pharmacological mechanisms.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy may be defined as the therapeutic use of water in any of its forms. There are various methods of application: hot & cold compresses, nasal lavage, topical packs, poultice, foot baths, and constitutional treatments. This therapy uses the different contrasts of water to stimulate the body's own healing power.

NAET

Nalbudripads Allergy Elimination Technique, or NAET, is a non-invasive solution to treating allergies and environmental sensitivities. The technique employs a combination of acupuncture/acupressure and applied kinesiology. Further information can be found at www.naet.com.

Reiki

Reiki means universal energy. It is an ancient Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Reiki can be used at any time; it is a non-invasive technique; a laying on of hands. Reiki moves old energy or "blocks" out of the body and puts new energy in to promote healing and health.
